Faculty critique

Today, I had my faculty critique.  I got some valuable feedback and look forward to getting some serious work done then figuring out some issues with exhibition.

  1. To help you along with your painting work, here are the notes from the critique
-The idea is very strong, but make sure to think about what color you will paint the edges of your canvases. Using a flatter grey may suck some of the energy out of your work.
-Consider painting the wall, to help your pieces stand out, but only paint from the top edge of the entrance to 308 down. Painting the space above the entrance where not work will be displayed may undermine the rest of the work.
-Consider ways to emphasize the story, such as smaller paintings of an interesting details of the suitcases
-A way to tie the pieces together would be to include a URL on one of the baggage tags you are making for Portfolio and Self-Promotion, then incorporate the tag somewhere in you display.
